Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe’s largest National Park at just under 15 000 km/sq. It is home to a wide variety of Africa’s finest wildlife species and is only 180km from the town of Victoria Falls. In the dry months it is home to almost 50 000 African Elephants.

We spent an entire day exploring the park with a local Zimbabwean Guide. The Guides in Zimbabwe are arguably the best in all of Africa. They spend many years training in the craft of tracking, animal biology, local plant uses, ecology and some much more. You get more than just a game drive in the park. You learn about the animals, plants, how to track animals and get entertained by endless stories of adventures had within the park. With all that experience, local knowledge and passion for wildlife you get a fun filled day and learn while enjoying the African Bush.

The guides are so passionate about the African Bush you will end up spending all available day light out in the bush exploring. Not only will you spend the entire day in the park, you will be asked to join them for a evening game drive on the fringes of the National Park to see what wildlife comes out at night.

Visiting Hwange Main Camp is like travelling back in time when Zimbabwe was the best location to see wildlife. Even though Zimbabwe has seen some challenges in it resent history it is still worth a visit to Hwange National Park.
