Marloth Park is situated close to the Crocodile River Gate of Kruger Park. It is a truely unique place. The locals like to emphasise that it is ‘Paradise on Earth’. It is hard to disagree. It is a fenced oasis backing onto the Kruger National Park with the Crocodile River as its boundary. The 17sqkm’s hosts residence and tourist accommodation, a few restaurants and bars and mother nature’s gifts in wildlife. You can open the door of your accommodation and bump into a warthog!
As I type this I am sitting at the ‘Amazing Kruger View Restaurant and Bar’ overlooking the Crocodile River and watching the animals come down to the river for a drink. Not a bad distraction, witnessing the endless line of elephants heading to the river for a drink before the night descends over the the vast wilderness of Kruger Park.
If your children need to burn off some energy. Marloth Park now has a number of activities that provide that opportunity. Again the “Amazing Kruger View’ has a picnic site, with pool and play area and the ‘Bos Bar’ at the Marloth Park Village has a pool by the bar so you can watch the kids while having a cold drink. The ‘Bushveld Atlantis” has a putt putt golf and waterslides! There is also a public walkway along the boundary with Kruger Park so you can stretch the legs, get some exploring in, bump into one of Marloth Park’s wild critters, or take in the scenes of the wildlife just over the fence.
Choosing to stay at Marloth Park provides you with the opportunity to get close to nature, but it is also the gate way to Kruger Park and all it has to offer. I regularly visit this wonderful place and always use a local to provide me with the best up to date information on what to do and where to stay. I suggest popping into the Marloth Park Tourist Information Centre. They are truly passionate about Marloth Park and Kruger
and will do their best to make your stay one to remember!
